MEDITRAINs NPR Report Writer - Beginner
training CD is designed to give the
student an understanding of the entire NPR module. It is designed
for the user who has little or no knowledge of NPR.
The CD begins with a
description of how the module is organized and what a NPR report
is. You are then shown how to Process, Copy, List, Delete, Rename
and Translate reports. The documentation section is then
described including; printing application manuals, menus,
procedures, data definitions, DPMs and DPM
cross-references. The importance of these options and how they
portray MEDITECHs data structures is
presented. This is followed with a description of the
miscellaneous section of the module where you are shown how to
move menus and reports, save and load reports from and to tape,
print report audit trails, list menu cross references and
background translate information. The presentation then covers
how to create a menu and assign reports to it. You are then shown
how to copy, list, delete, rename and translate these menus.
The CD goes on to cover the
file structure in NPR. You learn all about DPMs, parent
segments, child segments and subscripts. You are shown how to
read MEDITECHs data definitions so that
you will be able to select the data you need for a report.
The CD then covers the
report writer itself in detail, describing the function of each
section of the report writer. A sample report is created which
uses the NPR.REP DPM. This report provides a listing of all NPR
reports that have been written for a particular application. The
output lists the name of the NPR report, the user who created the
report and the DPM it was written upon. This sample is used to
discuss each of the three pages in the Report Writer. You learn
how to create header and trailer sections on the report picture,
how to manipulate the sorting of the data, how to set up
selection criteria, how to identify the data elements and place
them on the report and how to create custom fields.
